Our owners live in Burlington, Vermont, making our community their home and our commitment local. We care about the environment, we support Vermont farms and we use Vermont products. We give back to the Burlington community not only through donations and sponsorships, but by being involved in local organizations that make a difference.
Fresh
Whether it is the items we put out on our salad bar, or the herbs that we use in our signature dishes, freshness is of upmost priority for the Windjammer. That however, is only part of the equation as to what makes us “fresh.” From butchering our steaks, grinding our beef for burgers or developing unique dinner features daily, we take fresh to the next level. We feel that making things “fresh” to order is what sets us apart from most.

“I am a Montrealer who has been coming to Windjammer for more than 20 years. In the restaurant business, there are very few establishments that continue to thrive (or just survive) past 5 years. Tastes change, certain foods fall in or out of fashion, economy takes a bite out of the disposable family budget, owners retire, new management changes the original formula beyond recognition, etc. Happily, none of it occured at The Windjammer. The salad bar is as fresh and bountiful as ever. The menu selection has evolved over time ever so slightly to accommodate the gradully changing palates of its patrons.
